Viewing Your Life Insurance Benefit
The top of the Life Insurance (SOES-SGLI Online Enrollment System) page displays the last four (4) digits of your SSN, your Rank, your Grade, and the date that your SGLI was last certified.
- On the Standard Mandatory DoD Notice and Consent page, click Continue.If you have not yet clicked the Confirm & Certify button to submit and confirm changes to your coverage, the system displays the Welcome to SOES page.
- Click Continue if necessary. The system displays your marital information as recorded in DEERS and asks you to confirm whether each item is correct.
- Select Yes or No after each item, then click Continue.
- If you answer "Yes" to each question, the system displays current coverage for you and your family members (FSGLI).
- If you answer "No" to any question, a message displays stating you cannot change your FSGLI coverage until you correct the information in DEERS. You can still view and change your SGLI coverage. Select the checkbox to acknowledge the message.
Your Coverage tab
Shows sponsor coverage and premium information, and spousal information, if applicable.
- Click View Details next to any beneficiary to view coverage details for primary and secondary beneficiaries. Click Hide Details to hide them.
- When viewing details, click Add Beneficiary to display the Edit Beneficiaries tab where you can add a new beneficiary.
- When viewing details, click Edit Beneficiary to display the Edit Beneficiaries tab where you can edit beneficiary details and shares of proceeds as well as delete a beneficiary.
Alert icons indicate more information is available. Hover over an icon to display text. Select an item under Alerts in the Guide on the right to display details.
- Click Return to Your Coverage from any page where it is displayed to return to the Your Coverage tab.
Edit Coverage tab
Edit life insurance coverage and view the resulting premium amount.
Edit Beneficiaries tab
Add a beneficiary, edit beneficiary details, edit shares of proceeds and distribution method, and delete a beneficiary.
Print/Save Certificates tab
View, sign, save, print, and email your Certificate of Coverage and other documents.
