TRS or TRR Active Duty, or TAMP Ending Letters

TRS or TRR active duty, or TAMP Ending Letters are available to Selected Reserve or National Guard and Retired Reserve Service members who may be in one (1) of the following categories:

• A current period of active duty or TAMP ending within the next 60 days
• Their most recent period of active duty
• TAMP has ended within the last 30 days and they remain a National Guard or Reserve Member

The Active Duty period must not be or have been in support of a named contingency operation.

The Ending letter informs Service members that they may be eligible to enroll in TRS or TRR if they remain in the Selected Reserve or Retired Reserve after their Active Duty or TAMP period ends. It directs interested Service members to their National Guard or Reserve personnel office or their Service points of contact where they can obtain information on enrollment.
